Divorce Mediation

Divorce Mediation involves working with a mediator to assist you through the discussion of important issues that affect your life and your family’s lives. These issues include custody, parenting time (visitation), child support, spousal support, property distribution, and the distribution of retirement plans.
Mediation is a less costly, less time-consuming, and less emotionally draining approach to divorce or separation. Where a litigated divorce often tears the family apart, mediation helps to preserve the family and avoids making the children the victims in a separation or divorce.

Couple in Mediation

Mediation allows the parties to control their own destiny and consider their unique issues to find a resolution that is mutually agreeable by the parties — at a reasonable cost.

With the cost of divorce in New York State skyrocketing when choosing litigation, mediation offers a much more economical alternative while allowing the parties to hold the power when making decisions.
